The birth and death dates of this composer are purely speculative. It is believed that a Wilhelm Kopprasch (ca. 1750-after 1834), a bassoonist in Dessau (between Berlin and Leipzig), is his father although no records can confirm this. If he had a son he would probably have been born in the range 1780-1800. There is a Kopprasch listed as a second horn in 1824 in Berlin. Much of the correspondence concerning the horn etudes and other horn works is between the publisher, Breitkopf und Härtel, and W. Kopprasch even though the etudes list G. Kopprasch as the composer. These correspondences occurred between 1832 and 1834. If we assume that Georg Kopprasch moved back to Dessau, wrote the horn etudes and was alive while his better known father negotiated payment with the publisher, that puts his death sometime after 1834.
