- Of the two Josef Stransky's, 1810–1890 (cellist-composer) and 1872–1936 (conductor-composer), all the pieces by Stransky uploaded to date were clearly composed by the earlier composer (as the 1900 printings are reprints or new editions, for example, of works originally appearing in HMB before the second Stransky was born- suggesting either a rare case of prehumous compositions, or the simpler possibility of misattribution. So, changing the dates and deleting the photo.
Stransky was 2nd cellist in the 1st performance of Schubert's String Quintet on 17 November 1850, in the kleine Musikvereinsaal Vienna by the Hellmesberger Quartet.
