Miscellaneous information
- The composer of the works by "Chas." and "Charles" Schultz @LoC and mip.berkeley.edu/CSMP - probably? the same person- may have been the same as the musician who conducted the California Theatre in 1873 and later directed the orchestra of the 20th Industrial Exhibition of the Mechanics' Institute in 1885 (title page of the Fair Daily March of that year.) The earliest copyrighted work (I have) located by him is the Firemens' March of 1861, and all or most of them were published in California in the USA (likewise those few contemporary statements about him - if the same person - in the press)- suggesting that as to nationality, he was either an American citizen or at least perhaps nationalized given the amount of time he seems to have spent in California after 1850 (when it was a state.)
