Born in "the Prussian capital" (Königsberg? Berlin?) in 1849?, visited and moved to the United States (Chicago, initially) in 1866. (Other sources give 1848.) (Possibly the same Schleiffarth whose pupils gave a piano recital in Ogden City, Utah, July 1 1914?)
