Born in Mainz he lived in Worms until October 1914 before he went to war in France, where he died (22 years old).
The violin sonata score and some manuscripts can be found in the City Archive Worms, including a piano sonata (1912) and 'Schwabinger Bauernballtänze' (1913), which contained the portrait uploaded.
