A composer (quite possibly a relative) Louis Saar was active a generation or less before Louis Victor Saar, it would seem (according to entries in Hofmeisters Monatsberichte, but since L.V. Saar's first works started appearing chronologically around 1891 and Louis Saar's works appeared when Louis Victor Saar was in his preteens (up through Opus 13 in 1876 or so) - besides having different works for the same opus numbers- these may need to be distinguished.
