Quaritch seems to have written both lyrics and music, and had his own publishing company in London (A.H. Quaritch), described as also publishing plays. There was a far more famous London Quaritch publisher, Bernard Quaritch Ltd., founded by Bernard Alexander Christian Quaritch, (April 23, 1819 – December 17, 1899), who was a German-born British bookseller and collector. He had a son, Bernard Alfred Quaritch (1870-1913), who took over the business. Alfred could have been his brother, or uncle. The nationality, like the others, is likely to be German/English.
