Italian/French mandolinist and composer, active in France.
Born 1855 in Napoli (Italy), 1893 naturalized Frenchman, died 1940 in Nice (France). [1]
Not to be confused with his son Janvier Pietrapertosa (1873-1940). [2] Both died in 1940, both wrote their own mandolin method, and both were prolific composer/arrangers for mandoline. The father published as J. Pietrapertosa, usually with opus number (up to Op.246), the son published as J. Pietrapertosa fils or Janvier Pietrapertosa, without opus numbers.
