His reign was separated from that of Oscar II King of Sweden and Norway by that of Charles XV (Charles XV of Sweden, Charles IV of Norway- it's confusing...) (r.1859-72). That said, please check publication dates; a work dedicated to Oscar I should have been published between (March) 1844 and 1859, or so; a work dedicated to Oscar II, between 1872 and 1907.
