Fétis claims this is the same composer as one Antoine (Anton) Neumann, who produced an opera at Trieste called "Nicolas Terzo", and was Director of the Italian Opera in San Yago [?] in 1842.
Another possible match is musician and composer Franz Wenzel Neumann von Puchholz (or Buchholz) - perhaps a relative - however, here too the biographical details are conflicting: Rybicka in "Slovník naučný" claims Neumann von Puchholz died in Berlin ca.1760; Gerber gives ca.1786 as year of death, whereas Gaßner claims he died in 1810 in Prague. These named authorities gave no first names for the composer.
