French composer: some original salon pieces, later on mainly arrangements, particularly for small orchestra (e.g. for silent movie, or orchestre de brasserie).
Initially active in Paris, and winner of a prix Pleyel. [3]
He contracted severe health problems as soldier in World War I [4], and subsequently led a secluded life in the Berry region, where he was still alive in 1933. [5]
His father, also named Raoul Moreau (1852-1923) [6], was conductor of the musique municipale (local music band) in Châteauroux; BNF has one score by this Raoul Moreau (père). [7]
