The article surmises that he "was probably related to the pianist Cesarine Meetz and the pianist and singer Julius Metz." However, Julius Metz is German, not French. BnF has nothing on Meetz at all, and VIAF only has one entry, with an American flag, and no other information in the "About" section. His one upload at IMSLP was published in Philadelphia, so it is not clear where the connection to France is.
