  • Klaus Uwe Ludwig was a German composer and church musician. From 1978 to 2008 he was Kantor (director of music) at the Lutherkirche in Wiesbaden.
  • He composed several children's operas as well as cantatas, chamber music, pieces for choir and works for keyboard instruments, especially organ. His composition style was influenced by composers of the late romantic era like Max Reger, as well as 20th century composers like Messiaen and Hindemith. His humour and his musicianship speak throughout his entire work.
  • One of his unusual projects was the first performance in German since the composer's lifetime of Spohr's Oratorio Des Heilands letzte Stunden (known in England as Calvary) in 1984, the bicentenary of Spohr's birth.
