Mathematician and composer of Lieder. He was involved in revolutionary politics in the 1830s: the Koseritz plot. He was a friend of two famous contemporaries from his home town, Stuttgart: the poet Eduard Mörike (1804-75) and the theologian David Strauss (1808-74).
