Grandfather of Karl von Kaskel; brother of pianist-composer Sophie von Baudissin

Kaskel was elevated to the Saxon-Austrian peerage for financing the Austro-Prussian war in 1866. Kaskel's bank became the Dresdner Bank in 1872.
The Kaskel banking family owned the Anton villa in Dresden from 1832.
