Miscellaneous information
- Albert Küssner was an American pianist and composer. Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, he seems to have lived and worked in Chicago, and later in Florida, where he died. His father was originally from Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, and the family operated a music store ('Palace of Music') in Terre Haute. Some of Albert's music was published in Chicago by his sister, Louise Küssner, a singer. Another sister, Amalia, was a world-famous miniaturist, who was commissioned to paint miniatures of the Russian imperial family. Albert seems to have written mainly light music.
- The 1880 census lists him as living in Terre Haute with his parents, but in his passport application he states that he was born in Greencastle/Indiana on May 7th 1861. Buried in Terre Haute.
