His five siblings all lived long lives and were professional musicians. Their father was Vojtěch Hřímalý Senior (1810-80) Adalbert was father of Otakar Hřímalý (1883-1945), and brother of Jan Hřímalý (1844—1915). The siblings settled in widely spaced places: Adalbert lived in Czernowitz (Bukovina, now Ukraine) for 30 years during its heyday. Jan in Russia, his two sisters (singers) in Vienna, and his brothers Bohumil and Jaromir in Helsinki. In the 1870s he was the V2 of the Hrimaly Brothers String Quartet with Jan Hřímalý (V1) Bohumil Va and Jaromir Vc
