Blackface singer and songwriter who performed with a number of minstrel companies including Dumbolton's Ethiopian Serenaders and Thatcher Primrose and West's Minstrels.
Not to be confused with his contemporary Frank Howard (1823-after 1900). Born in England; organist at King's Chapel, Boston from 1849 to 1865. Retired from musical life in 1880. Author of compositions for the church, songs, and piano pieces.
