Danish composer and musician born in 1829 in Lütjenburg, Holstein[1]. He arrived in Copenhagen in 1848, where he spent one year performing in the orchestra of H.C. Lumbye at Tivoli Gardens. Following this, he relocated to Helsingør for twelve years, working as a music teacher and performing in local orchestras. After marrying, he moved to Randers in 1860. It was during this period that he composed his best-known work, the Festgalop, which was performed in 1868 by C.C. Møller's orchestra at Alhambra in Frederiksberg. In 1873, he returned to Copenhagen, where he continued working as a music teacher until his death in 1900[2].
