Alternative Names/Transliterations: The naming "Charles Doisy-Lintant" is erroneously a mismatch of Charles Doisy and his colleague Charles Lintant by Eitner et al.
The 5 string (or courses, until the 2nd half of the 18th c.) guitar (same tuning as the modern classical guitar, but string ⑥ = E missing) was in vogue when Doisy was young. Later in his life he also mentioned the 6 string guitar.
