One of the earlier society entertainers at the piano. Whilst he was not the first, he was very well-known for his time and entertainment, performing around the same time as John Parry. His funeral was attended by George Grossmith and Corney Grain, two of the most famous piano entertainers of all time. He was survived by his wife, who was subject to a generous benefit which was originally for Buckland himself before ill health led to his death. Grain performed a sketch of his and Grossmith accompanied at the piano for Lionel Brough's Muddle Puddle Porter. A very interesting case of earlier British piano entertainers, but sadly forgotten.
