Munsey's Magazine in 1897 says this of a singer (Dynah Beumer, I think?)-- "She is the daughter of Henry Beumer, a Hollander, who has been for many years a master of the violin in the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels." (Another magazine, in another biography of Beumer's daughter, however claims that Beumer was from elsewhere - France? Belgium? perhaps? and "went to Holland in his early youth"). (This was corrected to "was" from "is" when the biography in Munsey's Magazine reappeared in 1898 on its 2nd goround; at a guess, someone had told the editors that Mr. Beumer had died, perhaps between 1877, when the last uncontradicted magazine report in present tense (that I have found...) is dated, and 1897...
