Miscellaneous information
- Probably the piano merchant turned up by FamilySearch.org born ca.1813 in Austria.
- Was still composing works in 1898 for special occasions apparently according to some contemporary accounts (but this may have been Bellak Jr.?...- apparently so...), and still seemed to be signing his own copyright renewals in 1907 (however, his family was doing so in 1912) so previously was estimating his death as between 1907 and 1912. (However, Maine Music Box and some other sources have his dates as 1814-1891.)
- In the New York Clipper Annual for 1892 on page 29, it lists the death in 1891 of Bellak, James, musician, Atlantic City, N.J., Sept 1.
