In his article '
Musiken i Lund under 1700-talet' (The Music in Lund in the 18th century, Swedish Journal of Music Research, 1939, pp 128-142) the Swedish musicologist Bo Alander (1915-1964) describes the Kraus collection containing the 2 concertos by Anderssen. Alander assumes that the composer may have been Danish. There are, however, no other traces of a Danish composer Anders[s]en from mid 18th century. The name prefix 'Sig
r' (signor) is a title which in 18th century Northern European rank system was given to male musicians.
