Scottish musician and music seller, based at various times in Perth, Edinburgh and finally Inverness. Possibly he was a music engraver too, but there may be some confusion here with another music engraver called J. Anderson (fl.1810-1835), perhaps his son. It seems likely that the "Anderson's Budget" publications are by the later J. Anderson.
