Carl Sackur, himself a composer of popular music (over 100 opus numbers) published popular music from 1873 into the 20th century in Breslau (then in Silesia, Prussia, now named Wroclaw, Poland). In 1888-89 It was known as Starke & Sackur, and from 1893 Starke continued as an independent company. The catalog contained mainly solo songs and dances for piano.
