Gerson ascribes the text of this and other vocal pieces to a Antonio Ganganelli, author of an anthology, Raccolta Di Prose, E Poesie Di Vario Genere, Ad Uso De' Studiosi Della Lingua Toscana, published in Hamburg 1810 while Georg Gerson was there studying music and business.. The poem is found page 172-173 in this antholgy. The real poet is Vincenzo Monti (1754-1828).
