Misc. Notes At Brussels Conservatories Library, ref CBD-B-0443-0444-(03139). Apologies for the poor quality of the scan. The colour version is much more legible, but too large to upload at c.500Mb.

The manuscript is not a clean copy - there are several passages crossed out and pages deliberately stuck together. The most confusing area is around page 90, where several page are blank or to be omitted. Understanding Jongen’s intention here depends on two pencil notes which are too faint to survive in the black and white file: page 92, last bar: “continue page 82 2e mesure” page 84, end of 5th bar = rehearsal mark 2: “la 2e fois continue page 98 dernière mesure” so the correct sequence is 1) play to end of page 92 2) repeat from page 82 second bar as far as RM2 on page 84 3) continue from page 98, last bar

Extra Information Prix de Rome equal second prize in 1895. Note that there is a difference of opinion about the opus number. Jongen’s own list, together with Guchteneer and Whiteley, specify op.8 whereas Cebedem and the Brussels Conservatoire Library index give op.11. (The same happens with his next Prix de Rome entry - Comala - which may be op.11 or op.14)
