No composer's name on the score. The index of the book attributes it to "MacLaren". Now, Ian MacLaren (1850-1907) was the author of the book "Beside the Bonnie Brier Bush", published in 1894, but as far as I know he wasn't a composer.
An online search for the title gives Jacob Henry Ellis as the composer. Ellis probably based the music on MacLaren's book. - R.P.
