Op.23 is erroneously printed on the score-NOT erroneously; Op.23 is Bessel's Opus number for this. They assigned Op.23 to this, and Op.24 to Chanson de pêcheur, barcarolle. Remember that opus numbers were still generally assigned by publishers, and 2 different publishers might assign the same opus number to different pieces by the same composer (see Sgambati's opus lists for egregious cases.)
