Hans Dünnebeil (1883-1961) who had worked for Breitkopf, started this firm in 1932. He was a Weber enthusiast: he published Weber scores, and helped Mathilde von Weber (1881–1956) to rebuild the Weber archive after it was destroyed during the aerial bombing of Dresden in 1945.
His Breitkopf career started as a retailer (Sortimenter) in London in 1905, and continued in Berlin until 1932.
Dünnebeil wrote a memoir, published in 1948: Plaudereien und Erinnerungen einer Musikalienhändlers. Dem Nachwuchs unseres Standes gewidmet (Berlin ; Afas-Musikverlag, Hans Dünnebeil ; 1948 ; 72pp.)
