Composer's notes:

This short piece for small orchestra (Flute, Cor Anglais, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horns (2), Timpani, Gong, Violins I, Violins II, Violas, Cellos, Basses) and drum kit was written as a character study of a fictitious character in Steampunk Saga, a freeware RPG game written by Ricky Ip and Kevin Chu, and containing work (graphics, animation and music) by many other talented and enthusiastic contributors.

Aella is a fascinating character, a blend of strength and vulnerability, power and sadness. The three themes presented in this character study attempt to relate portray these traits in a compact rhapsodic form.
