-The original 1665 partbooks (D-Dl Mus.Pi.22,5 and D-Dl Mus.Sche.27)

-The set of parts which can be found at Uppsala (S-Uu Vok. mus. i hs. 3:11)

A few details were also compared (for ex. the bass figures, which are at times clearly incorrect in both of the above) with the tablature score also found at Uppsala (S-Uu Vok. mus. i hs. 79: 35).

Update 01.10.2023: Several critical corrections, affecting mostly the basso continuo figures (which are often inconsistent or more plainly wrong) as well as the melody in mes. 34-38 which previously had a clearly wrong b-natural instead of b-flat.

Extra Information The text is the thirteenth stanza of Luther's well known Christmas chorale, "Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her", which is probably better known in the setting which closes the first part of J. S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248, mvt 9). The date on the first edition is given as 1665, but seemingly this is not correct, see Grusnick, Bruno (1966), "Die Dübensammlung. Ein Versuch ihrer chronologischen Ordnung" (part 2-3), Svensk Tidskrift för Musikforskning, vol 48, p. 90.
