|Work Title||A Comparison of Digital and Sampled Celestas|
|I-Catalogue NumberI-Cat. No.||None [force assignment]|
|Composer Time PeriodComp. Period||Modern|
|Instrumentation||Electronic music samples (celesta)|
At Christmas time I thought a selection of celestas in my ongoing series of sampled comparisons would be appropriate. My main purpose was to test out the Spitfire Redux Percussion library, which is purported to be one of the best with excellent sounds all around. I'll also compare a number of other popular sampled options - starting of course with the most famous celesta part ever written - the main theme of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker. Then added a piece I wrote for the testing.
