Extra Information "As Canons in general are heavy Pieces of Music, whose Words are commonly short Verses of Scripture, and not always proper at festive Entertainments, the Author has attempted in the following Work, to make them rank with Glees and Catches as chearfull Music. He has likewise endeavour'd to throw some Variety into Catches. But should these Specimens of his be deem'd imperfect, he hopes for some Indulgence for the Attempt, as some better Genius may improve upon his Plan."
