The autograph of no.1 was placed for auction at Sotheby's with a description here including a description of the dedication. Both Medtner and Rachmaninoff "each composed a setting (of Muza) which they dedicated to her. Medtner's was published as his Op.29, no.1; for Rakhmaninov's see Lot 216." (Medtner also used several motifs from Op.29/1, and at least one other song from Op.29, in his Sonate-ballade Op.27 and in the piano quintet which occupied him for much of his life. However, the first movement, in which these songs appear, was basically already complete in 1904, so arguably the themes of these songs come from the quintet and not the other way around!)
