From Monatsbericht (1897), p.164, it seems that no.2 is actually a Larghetto. As sometimes, Adagio may refer here to "Slow movement", not specifically the tempo indication Adagio (as with the slow movement of one of Rubinstein's symphonies which memorably says "Adagio. Andante" on the same page... suggesting Adagio is the type, Andante the tempo...) - Schissel (despite the cover, it should probably still be 2 Adagios...)
