History

T.C. & E.C. Jack of Edinburgh was a general publisher active from ca.1880 to 1915. It was bought by Nelson in 1915, but the imprint was retained.
Its music publications were Scots Minstrelsie in 1893 (6 vols) and English Minstrelsie (8 vols) in 1895. It was a time of several large collections, such as Bayley and Ferguson's The Scottish Students' Song Book (1897) and Boosey's The Songs of England.
