Extra Information	Symphony for Strings could be termed a double fugue in symphonic manner, building dramatic developmental and symphonic phrase structures in its episodes. The high Baroque is alloyed with classical and post-romantic textures and harmony; sonata treatment can be discerned in the overall architecture. The themes (subjects) are J.S. Bach themes, the first from the famous Chaconne for solo violin, the second from Die Kunst der Fuge.
