Information on Thirion reduction

Navigation etc.
BnF no longer has the original Baudoux full score, it seems (or even its Salabert reprint/re-typeset) (they do have Thirion's ©1901 piano duet reduction thereof, also made for Baudoux.) This is explained somewhat in the notes to Timpani 1C1097. The premiere - left to Bréville to the last minute - was a failure; perhaps as a result, " A unique fact with this composer, this symphony even seemed to have disappeared during his lifetime (except for the two-piano version), as was implied in a letter from 1955; no trace of it was to be found in Bibliothèque Nationale or in his own home, where, however, a large number of his works were kept" -- ... "Yet, this pièce, which in fact slumbered well hidden in the depths of Editions Salabert" - explaining how it is that Salabert had the manuscript (to typeset from, see full score above) when BnF - and the composer's home - were lacking.
