Extra Information If the opus HMB (Hofmeisters Monatsbericht; see link above) lists as op.62 - a set of 3 in A and E and G, exactly like op.61 - is in fact op.61 as seems likely - then this was first published in 1852 as per Hofmeisters' entry. Ellerton's opus numbers are no guide to chronology; the scores of Op 61 were published by Schott along with 6 other quartets, Op 122 and 124, in a volume dated 1853, but autograph parts of his 3 quartets op 123 are sequentially dated as if composed in 1858!
