  • Scriabin only met with Natalya Sekerina in autumn of 1892 so the dedication must have been made much later after completing the work. He fell in love with Natalya immediately and wrote numerous letters from then until 1895, when she turned down his proposal of marriage. By her own account, this was despite their mutual love and because of feelings of inadequacy. Parental disapproval probably also played a major part.
