URTEXT EDITION
This “urtext” or “scholarly” (scientific) edition was published at least 25 years ago in Germany and thus is public domain in its country of origin. Such editions are also public domain in Canada because they fail to meet the minimum ‘threshold of originality’ to qualify for copyright as an ‘adaptation’. It may not be public domain elsewhere, however. More information about this can be found here.

  • The 1st and 2nd movements were taken from the instrumental introduction to Chandos Anthem No.8, HWV 253. The last two movements are identical to the overture to the Chandos Anthem No.5, HWV 250c. Published in the collection "Select Harmony" by John Walsh, possibly without Handel's approval. Note: for some reason, the Seiffert and Bas versions both refer to this as "Concerto Grosso no.9".
