This piece was born from experiments with a Roland D-50 "loop station", a piece of electronics that allows one to stack multiple repeating phrases. The D-50 looper allows for three independent stacks of loops, which can clearly be seen in the score. The whole G-loop composition was a one-take live improvisation, written out after the fact.
