Boston Symphony Program Notes give premiere information for a number of Gernsheim works, including this one. Conductor's name and specific orchestra missing, however. According to Lexikon der deutschen Konzertliteratur (1909) (possibly the source of the 1910 notes), performed by Schnitzler "im Saale der Societat Harmonie im 2. Abonnement der Konzertgesellschaft Eruditio Musica". Conductor's name is given as - Friedrich Gernsheim. Reinecke conducted the work's first Leipzig Gewandhaus performance in October 1880, though.
