Native of Mainz, where he was active as a pianist, teacher, composer and
publisher 1790-1840. Compositions include a piano concerto Op.5, piano quartets Op.12,15, piano trio Op.6, piano solo works Op. 1,7,8.
Easily confused with an Austrian military bandmaster Carl Zulehner (1805–1847), who arranged the famous carnival march
Mainzer Narrenhalle (1840), which is based on a tune from Adam's
Le brasseur de Preston.
