A Jewish composer and violinist born in Vienna in 1879. He would spend most of his life in France, moving with his family at five where he would work as a violinist. In the 1910s and 1920s, he spent time in Britain, running his own music publishing company. He also wrote several famous music hall and variety songs, with such songs being sung by famous artists like Harry Champion. Sadly the Nazi occupation of France meant that he was deported to Auschwitz in 1942 and subsequently murdered in the Holocaust.
