Belgian violinist and conductor, born Brussels, studied with Baillot in Paris. Co-founder with Charles de Bez of Société Sainte-Cécile which presented symphonies by Mendelssohn Schumann and French contemporaries (Reber, Gouvy, Saint-Saens) from 1848 to 1854.
