English-American composer, organist, and teacher (of organ, violin, and piano). According to United States censuses, he immigrated to America in 1887 and married in 1889. He conducted a Little Rock, Arkansas music school and lived in Springfield, Illinois before settling in the nearby Taylorville by 1900. Rickaby was the organist for the First Presbyterian Church there for thirty-six years; he was also the organ editor and frequent contributor for The Etude.
