- A brief description on him can be seen on Fétis' "Biographie universelle". (2nd ed vol.6 p.38). He was born in Bordeaux and moved to Paris in 1784 where he became known as a guitar teacher and later became friends with Fernando Sor. He had two daughters who both sang at the French opera in St Petersburg; the younger one (?-1833), described by Fetis as "aimable, spirituelle et bonne", became Boieldieu's second wife.
